Disclosure is a current hot topic for clinicians working with individuals who stutter. But how do we approach this topic with clients, especially if they are hesitant? Is it as simple as just “disclosing,” or is there more to it than that? What support do clients need as we explore disclosure with them? In this session, Anthony DiLollo, Ph.D., CCC-SLP examines disclosure as a client-centered process and discusses the role of counseling – both as a therapeutic approach and a skill set – in helping clients explore the potential benefits of disclosure.
